Kolhapur: In a significant stride towards empowering women with future-ready skills, the Ratnagiri Foundation is thrilled to announce a pioneering initiative: free drone pilot training for women within the Kolhapur constituency. This groundbreaking program, designed to create impactful employment opportunities, was recently highlighted in the Sakhi newsletter.
As revealed by Ratnagiri Foundation Convenor, Mr. Kethuri Dharmateja, this comprehensive training will run for 20 days and is being conducted with the valuable cooperation of Tara UAV Private Limited. The foundation’s decision to focus on drone technology stems from a keen understanding of the revolutionary changes sweeping across the agriculture sector and other industries.
A Skill for Tomorrow’s Agricultural Revolution and Beyond:
“Keeping in view the revolutionary changes coming in the agriculture sector, the foundation has decided to train women on the use of drones,” stated Mr. Dharmateja. Drones are rapidly becoming indispensable for precision farming, efficient pesticide spraying, and even monitoring crop health, offering exciting career paths. Beyond agriculture, these skills are highly sought after for various applications, including shooting cultural programs and events.
Who Can Apply? Eligibility and Selection Process:
The Ratnagiri Foundation is committed to selecting highly motivated and capable candidates. Preference will be given to women who have successfully completed their degree and are medically fit for the training.
To streamline the selection process, a special camp will be held on the 15th and 16th of this month (July 15th and 16th, 2025) at Minister Jupalli Krishnarao’s camp office in Kolhapur. This camp will facilitate the selection of eligible candidates for the program.
Training Location:
Those successfully selected at the Kolhapur camp will then proceed to Hyderabad for the intensive 20-day drone pilot training.
